I don't think its surprising. America has some of the best places and cities in the world. What place can compare to NYC? Perhaps a bit surprising considering how nice Canada already is, but coming from UK its not a surprise at all. UK is a dump compared to America. Everyone here in Britain would rather be in America if they could. Especially the young. Look our celebrities. In insane amount of our actors and musicians move to America and never look back. Ultimately, Europe is a white place, and it always will be. They don't believe in tolerance or acceptance. You have to act like a European, and even then they won't accept you. Canada and America is far far far far better for someone of Indian origin, than anywhere in Europe. If you are white, especially a racist white person, Europe is fine. If you are a POC, you'd have to be really ignorant to choose Europe over N. America. Anyone can be American. But only white people can be considered European.
