I think the Go is a HUGE leap forward for VR in terms of both convenience and accessibility - feels like the beginning of a new phase for the medium. :)

Yes, there are still compromises, but I feel this is a device that makes the sacrifices that are most logical for the current state of the industry - freedom from tethers and (especially) cost are going to open doors for lots of new users and applications, and where the users are the developers follow, which means we will get lots of new, innovative VR apps and games. VR really needs this, there is only so much that can be accomplished in the "premium" space where the development financials just don't justify much beyond investment - at some point you got to turn investment into market. With the Go, an actual self-sustaining ecosystem is a realistic possibility because the device is "good enough" and, crucially, affordable enough to attract a new audience. That's my hope at least. :)

Are you asking me? Cuz I have no idea. My guess is that it seems like the perfect opportunity for enterprising 3rd parties to provide some sort of hook-up solution (like a cover for a tablet). Maybe... ;) Still, were it up to me, something customized to improve the seal around the nose to block more light would be the first thing I'd try to come up with...

Not sure how when and how much you tried, but there are thousands of people playing Echo Arena every day, and it has been growing since launch last year. If the closed beta of Echo Combat last weekend is any indication, there will be even more playing Echo Combat. I really doubt finding players will be an issue. :)

We thought so too, but it was not - we tried every possible combination we could think of, and we fully implemented and tested them all. For one thing, having to hold the gun meant that you could not grab on to the environment with that hand, which with the Echo games movement system had a big negative impact on your ability to exploit the environment. Then there is the issue that free floating objects in 0g don’t stay put - you knock them over or let them go and move away and getting back to them becomes a huge chore. At the end it was not fun - so our designers went with this approach, as it lets the player prioritize skill mechanics that feel more rewarding instead of frustrating.

I cannot confirm or deny anything but work on these games is ongoing and development will continue for quite some time, so cool stuff will continue to come along - that's the goal at least. :)

Thanks! To be clear, chucking stuff at other players is awesome, and you can still pick up and toss objects. Also, you can "grab" behind your back and throw a grenade into your enemies, which is highly satisfying. ;)
