Just finished. Wonder why they felt it was worth releasing as a half-season, let alone dividing it with that ending. Kinda a weird half-season.. The S4 recut being fresh in my mind has made me kinda feel 'meh' about the storyline this season, it is so meandering, I was hoping for more quick time jumps to get out of the corner they wrote themselves into. The perceivable age difference of michael cera in episode 1, from the 'punching' scene S4 footage to the new S5 continuation was jarring as hell. Kyle Mooney is the worst addition to the cast, not sure why they even bothered with him. Buster was criminally wasted in these episodes, but was the best part of any one he was in. There were some good moments, and I hope the second half turns it around to make this first half pay off.

I felt it strange that she killed the captor as well.. All of his established motives throughout the episode seemed pretty clear up until the end: 1) He rescued her from the crash site while she was unconscious, using the rationale that she would have died/been eaten if someone else had found her first...2) He brought her food and told her to eat, since food is a scarcity around here, he gave her a fairly hefty portion and could have easily made her starve. 3) She prompted him with requests to let her out to find her kids, saying that they could be in danger. He already knows this because4) When she hurt herself, he came running asking "What happened?" -- She then requested her medication, she played on the fact that he was alone, touching his hand and basically implying that she might get with him if he retrieves her medicine.5) When he returns with the medicine, he is unarmed (well, he had a weapon, but it was not drawn), has zero intent or motive to harm her, yet the doctor stabs him. SHE takes the first strike. If you were the 'captor', and you found an unconscious alien life form that also had a weapon on her, and brought her back to safety, would you not lock her in a safe space until you determined her motives and her intent? Yes, it's perceived by the viewer as her being imprisoned, but how many of you would willingly trust a stranger, especially in a war-torn post-apocalyptic scenario blindly? From his perspective, and rightfully so, he went out of his way to rescue a crash victim, keep her safe, fed, and healthy (agreeing to go out and risk getting her medication), only to be murdered by the person he rescued. The doctor straight up killed a dude.. I get she did it out of fear, but as a viewer, she was not morally in the right.

I get this point of view, but if you put yourself in that scenario, and everything you've known about your home world, and the situation that has unfolded to get you to the point where you have a fallout bunker and are fighting to stay alive/healthy, if you came across another healthy individual, you'd more than likely want to keep them around. Think about it this way: Everyone else out in the wild is sick, has boils, and are eating each other. He comes across another healthy individual who is not suffering from any of these effects. She is either A) Like him and has her own fallout shelter or B) Not from around here. So, he probably figured she fell into the latter category, informs her of what is going on and why he's keeping her in 'a safe place', and then basically implies that it's pointless to even try to go out and get them because nothing survives long out there. Everything in his being knows that if they were in the woods overnight, they're likely dead. If not, then infected with a virus that to him, there is no cure. I get the notion that him keeping her there was wrong and crossed him into being an 'enemy' in her eyes, but to him, he's afraid that she isn't prepared for what's out there, and is simply trying to protect her from falling into the same fate as everyone else out there. There aren't likely many 'healthy' people left in the world. There's survival instinct, and then there's rational thought. If the world was a viral nightmare, you'd likely be relying more on your survival instincts at that point (especially depending how long it's been since you've seen a 'normal' person) rather than being like "yeah, I should let her go.. she's the only other healthy female i've seen in years, but yeah sure, she's got kids that are probably dead.. have fun, good luck, don't get space herpes." I mean, look at LOST, same thing when they found Desmond in the hatch... there's isolation and then there's the thought of being the only survivor.. It fucks with your head.. I don't expect anyone would think clearly after something like that. Objective arguments are fine and well, and having never been in that position myself, I don't know what I'd do... But as an observer, the 'captor' was just trying to save her from the world he lived in... whether she knew that, had the time for it, or not.

Movie was pretty great, but I felt like there was a lot more for adults than there was for children. Long sequences about parental responsibilities, gender equality in the workforce, etc. It aimed high, and I liked it for that. I wonder how kids perceived it. My only gripe is: Why did Elasti-Girl's electric motorbike still have engine revving noises.. ugh.

My theory (Spoilers for IW, obv.): Avengers 4 will be a Tony Stark Revenge plot. After seeing Peter die in front of him, he returns home to find that Pepper has also vanished. This sets him on a course to find Thanos and, more specifically, the time stone so that he can reverse what happened (As evidented by Strange saying that "this is the only way" prior to his death). In Infinity War, when Thanos wanted the Soul stone, he had to sacrifice Gamora. My over-arching theory is that, by the end of Avengers 4, Tony will have to make a similar sacrifice to use the time stone: He will need to reverse time so far back, to the very beginning (Iron Man 1), so that everyone lives. But in doing so, the life he knows, the people he's met, and the bonds hes formed, never come to pass. The price he pays is losing his love (Pepper), his friends (Avengers), and his fortune (his business). This allows for Marvel to reboot / tell alternative storylines within the MCU and not be bogged down by existing contracts or actors who are done with their roles. The big hole in my theory is that it potentially erases the entire MCU in one fell swoop, and makes all the previous films essentially non-existent. So while not iron clad, I think some form of Tony's sacrifice will require him to not be a part of what he has built.

Picked mine up from the Toronto International Centre on Thursday, this thing is absolutely gorgeous, and fun as fuck to drive. I had zero panel issues, no cosmetic imperfections, it was literally a perfectly built car. The only thing they did was forgot to plug in my rear-trunk interior LED light, which was totally fine because I replaced all those LEDs with the brighter ones from RPM Tesla. For anyone curious: this thing feels familiar, it handles very similar to my Mazda 3; albeit with much more pep. It was a fairly easy adjustment to get used to how the Tesla drives. The centre screen takes about a day to acclimatize yourself to. I bought a bunch of stuff for the car before I took delivery: 5 LED upgrade kit from RPM Tesla (2 for the trunk, 1 for the glovebox, one for each front-door puddle light) 2 LED upgrade footwell kit from RPM Tesla (Makes the footwell lights blue, and its beautiful, picture below). "Matrix" 3M Centre console wrap from RPM Tesla (picture below). Knock-off "Premium Pedals" for Model S/X. They fit on the 3, too. Weathertech trunk and trunk mat from tesla's online shop. And now, for some pictures! Overall, extremely happy - the delivery experience was a bit rushed and unorganized, but they're doing 223 cars a day in an 8-hour window, so I'll forgive them for that one. AS FOR THE TOUCH SCREEN. Opening the glovebox is as simple as pressing the car icon, then 'open glovebox' - it's stupidly simple and takes no time at all. Likewise, climate control is pressing the fan button (or up and down arrow for temperature), it's arguably faster than turning the three knobs that existed in my old mazda 3. It took me about one day to get used to the centre screen, and now it's so absolutely incredibly simple to navigate and get to what I need when I need it. The only menus you'd ever need to 'wade through' are the ones you'd do while parked. All drive-critical functionality is at worst one click deep. For everyone bitching and complaining about how a touch screen is going to ruin all the 'easy access' of the physical buttons you're used to, I have nine simple words for you: Shut the hell up until you've actually tried it.

All model 3s. At the international centre. They are trying to get as many delivered as possible before elections. Think critically for a second about what you actually fiddle with WHILE DRIVING. 1) radio / music - it has a physical button on the wheel to change songs/stations and modify volume. Changing inputs is one button away - same as a traditional vehicle. Or it can be done via voice commands. Which is tied to a physical button. You can even search for specific artists via that. 2) wipers - it has auto wipers or variable speed persistent on the touch screen (it’s on the top menu basically, immediate access), but guess what? There’s physical buttons on the left wheel stalk, too! 3) high beams - auto lights as well, but also a physical presence on the left stalk too! 4) turn signals - physically on left stalk 5) hazard lights - physical button above you by the dome lights. 6) navigation - all done via touch screen .. or, holy fuck, voice control! Which is activated by pressing in a physical button on the steering wheel! 7) switching gears - physically on the right stalk. Same with autopilot and cruise control activation. Deactivating is as simple as tapping the brake. — Am I missing anything that you need to do - while driving - ?? Everything that is mission critical has a physical presence in the car. None of that relies on the touch screen. The only items you use the touch screen for is climate control, and it’s one press of a button on screen. It takes the same level of attention to do that it does in a regular old car with knobs and dials. As for the “lack of staying power” - Pontiac doesn’t exist any more, but you still see their cars on the road. The charging infrastructure that exists outside of tesla, can all be used by Tesla’s via the various adapters. If you’re worried about aftermarket parts, I’m sure they exist or will exist should the company ever go under. But I think it’s pretty clear they’re on their way to sustained profitability. Don’t let unfounded fears keep you from embracing the future. The iPhone analogy is absolutely perfect - it’s the same feeling getting my first tesla that I had getting that first Gen iPhone. This is the future. A lot of people cried wolf at the longevity and reality of the iPhone only to be proven wrong about how much of an impact it had on future products from not only Apple, but other manufacturers too. I think the model 3 is the catalyst for a similar change in the auto industry. Literally everyone I’ve shown my car to thus far was initially sceptical of the Centre screen. And once I finished showing the car and taking them for a ride, they were all amazed at how simple it really was, and how clean and wonderful the interior was. You have to experience it to fully understand how much the simplicity in the cabin makes a difference.

I'm ~2 weeks from delivery, here in Ontario, Canada. VIN assigned, financing in order, car is en route to Oakville.. Delivery advisor said "last week of may or potentially sooner" -- it's getting more and more real. They offered $250 for my 2006 mazda 3 hatchback, lol.. I accepted it because I am not going thru the hassle of a private sale of a vehicle that has been in multiple collisions (other drivers hit me! - I was never at fault, hehe) and is rusting from the bottom up.

Keep in mind I haven't yet picked up my car, but the process right now in Ontario (Canada in general, actually) is a little backward. You put the $1000 down for your initial reservation. When you configure your car you put down a further $3200 (These are canadian prices, remember). Your order/build does not move forward until you put your $3200 down. At that point, your reservation page updates with a number of items required to take delivery: 1) Are you financing via tesla, or a bank, or paying with cash? (you select one of the three) 2) Are you trading in a vehicle? 3) Your vehicle registration address/info. 4) Your insurance info (I uploaded a copy of my CURRENT vehicle's insurance, as you can't really get tesla insurance without your VIN), this step is purely so they know you have insurance on your current vehicle. As I said, deliveries are kinda backward / hectic in Canada atm, so it took about 5.5 weeks from configuring to when I was assigned my VIN number. My 'delivery estimate' was 4-8 weeks, so it was still within that timeframe. We got word that delivery associates were phoning people in the initial delivery batch, and I was anxiously awaiting a call -- that didn't come right away. So I called the location that was closest, and spoke to a delivery specialist (Option #4 on their touch tone system), who told me that I should be expecting a call in a day or so, seeing as they had lots to get through. She asked me if I was financing or trading in, and I said yes to both - so she activated those two areas on my web portal and I applied for financing directly through the website. I was approved within the hour and then the emails began. A financial specialist from Tesla in california emailed me, CC'd my delivery advisor, and we went through the various term lengths and interest rates. Later the same day, my delivery advisor asked me to take photos of my trade-in, provide odometer readings and various other stuff about it, and they came back a day or so later with a preliminary estimate. So right now, all my financing is in order, I have a quote for my trade-in, and I'm awaiting news on my delivery date. He said that they hope to have all information regarding the order, financing, etc, squared away approx 3 days prior to delivery, so I can literally show up, sign papers, and drive away in the last week of may (or sooner, depending on vehicle transit time).

They Delayed US orders so they can also delay the 200,000th car delivery in the US until after July 1, so that more people can take advantage of the tax credit. I'm in Canada and my window moved up from "Late 2018" now to "Mid 2018", which makes me very happy, as I'll be getting my Model 3 likely before July now. If they pass 200k before July 1, the tax credit in the USA would go down to $3750 on Sep 1, and then $1825, and then gone. If they deliver car 200k after July 1, Tax credit wouldn't get halved until Jan 1 , 2019. If you think about it, it's the smartest move Tesla can make to get as many people in the USA the full tax credit. Right now, they're doing 1500 or so cars a week, by March (Q2) they're going to be upwards of 2500 cars a week. In September, they should be well on their way to 5-10k cars a week. Now look at the tax credit. If you can get what is essentially 30-50k cars a month from July 2018 to January 2019 (approx 240k total if you median it to 40k a month) to consumers at the full tax credit, versus 4k a month until june (16k cars approx) and have the tax credit start halving / phasing out for the second half of the year, what would you choose? More money in your customer's pockets, and the more likeliness people will hold on to their preorders if they know they get the full tax credit. Most the people cancelling/complaining are basically being "greedy". Yes, you could have your car sooner, but clearly you don't give a flying fuck about the rest of the country and the other 400k people waiting in line. You want your car and your tax credit now, I get it. But at the end of the day, the delay to after July 1 helps not only Tesla, but it also helps everyone waiting in line save just that much more. I get there are pre-existing Leases that people don't want to renew, or have cars that are on their last legs (myself included!), but there's a rationale behind their shifting deliveries to Canada and I've outlined it above. ALSO ON THE FLIP SIDE Ontario, which is the biggest provincial economy in canada, is having an election on June 8th, in which if the liberal party loses power, the $14,000 EV rebate might vanish overnight. Tesla delivering to Canada between may-July may ensure that we don't miss out on our provinical rebates. I'd fathom that all of canada's reservation backlog can be cleared out with one to two months of production... as is evidenced by EVERYONE who preordered in canada having the same delivery estimate, even if the pre-orders were on day one (pre-reveal like me), or 6 months later online.

What a fucking shit movie. Everything up until they hit mainland was fine. The moment they got to that house it went downhill. The image of the brontosaurus on the dock was heartbreaking and incredible. But then it turned into a literal greatest hits of iconic shots from previous films done by a horrible cover band. It’s literally South Park’s member berries brought to life. Hey you liked when the girl from the first movie hid in a cupboard and closed the door in the nick of time to fool a raptor? Check. Hey remember when they had to reboot the system to turn on all the lights? Check. Remember when they had the shadow of the raptor in amongst fake versions of the same animal? Check. Remember when they had to climb up a scaffolding (in this case an emergency ladder) to avoid the raptor? Check. Remember when the female kid stood in terror against the wall and the male hero had to come and grab her to get her moving again? Check. Remember that hunter guy from JP2 who only wanted to get a T. rex head for his wall? Well now he likes teeth. Check. Remember when raptors tapped its toes once in the original film and then once in JW1 for a great callback? Check check check check check check. The list goes on and on and on and on. It’s aggravating. And then we have the characters. A dinosaur vet who has never seen a fucking dinosaur in real life. A nerd stereotype who serves literally zero purpose. Then we have Owen and Claire - why even split them up in between films? He had zero moral quandary about going back to the island at all, and they ended up kissing anyway. It’s lazy plot for the sake of plot. And then Zephram fucking Cochrane as not-John-Hammond-but-it-basically-was and his cloned daughter. L M F A O. Can we talk about the villain for a second? ALL THAT FOR $150m?!?!? It probably cost more to transport the fucking dinosaurs back from nublar. It’s Austin powers’ Dr. Evil level of stupid. And, finally for the sake of my blood pressure: Indominous Raptor... Ok. So. The Indominous Rex was a mix between a T-Rex and... a raptor... So they added... more.. raptor? And got.. that. Ok then. So the message of the film seems to be: fuck dinosaurs. This tech is gonna be used to clone PEOPLE! And ok, cool message, but the granddaughter/daughter cloning serves zero purpose to the plot of the film other than to let the girl go “hey they’re fake like me!” And press a button. I think I honestly hate this movie. And I LOVE the franchise. Goddamnit.

HDR is royally messed up in this game. On my Xbox One X, menus go from dim (bad) to bright (good!), and its distracting as all hell. Plus rampant connection error messages after I complete missions.. my goodness EA. Looks beautiful in 4K, though.

Is it fine during game play though? Sometimes some of the blurred overlays look I can't imagine they were intended to look that way. Especially the crate type selection on the crate opening screen (I know this isn't technically 'in-game') but it looks like some weird inverted oil effect. Not very Pretty. In game, I feel like the HDR takes on whatever its last state was. So if during the loading menu it ended as dim, all your in-game HUD will be dimmed too. If you're lucky and the loading screen ended as bright, your hud will be nice and beautiful and so will the game. It amazes me that this passed CERT in its current state.

I love how maul is gonna be such a WTF moment for anyone who didn't watch clone wars or rebels. ALSO. Clearly there is going to be more.. I wonder if disney is gonna take the marvel playbook and have the next few 'star wars stories' play out as their own little chronology. The eventual Obi-wan film could easily have solo on tatooine. Likewise, "solo 2" could easily have an ewan mcgregor cameo, or even a larger role. I LOVE that they're fleshing out maul back into the cinematic universe, and not just the television universe.. The fact that they weren't afraid to include him might just open up a ton of doors for further stories here. And here I was thinking this would be the first star wars film without a lightsaber.

Bunch of people move into a house, they do competitions to become head of household. That person nominates two people, a set number of people (The nominees and randomly chosen other houseguests) compete for Power Of Veto, winner of that is immune from eviction for the week. If it's one of the nominees (or if the winner chooses to use the POV on one of the nominees), HOH has to submit a new nominee. House then votes on who they want to evict. Evictee goes home. After a certain number of weeks, evictees become Jury Members and go to a jury house instead, they all come back on finale night to vote FOR who they want to win. Mind you, throughout this whole process, production (particularly in the US version) meddles like FUCK in the background and anything that is "America's Vote" or "left to the fans" is usually 100% bullshit and is manipulated to achieve the most drama and ratings-favourable outcomes that CBS wants (Like someone getting voted back in, or a secret hidden veto for someone who is for sure going home and that everyone hates, etc).

Technically you’re supposed to pay duties on anything valued over $20 USD. It’s just whether or not your package gets caught or not. Duties and brokerage is such a PITA. Especially if you use UPS or DHL. You’ll get an extra $20 “just cuz” fee from them for pushing a button and calling it processing.

I literally had a dream last night that I was watching the new show with a new cast.. They had moved dunder mifflin out of the main building, but into a strip mall location.. the interior was identical, but it was in a sunny/southern location instead of scranton.. you could see out into the parking lot through the main doors, instead of vance refrigeration. So weird.

Watched the first episodes of Both Godless and Mindhunter based on the chatter in this thread. Initial impressions for anyone looking to do the same: GODLESS Episode starts slow, there are characters and events that don't get interesting until the last 15 minutes or so of the episode, once they solidify all the connections and you can start putting the timeline together. It plays with flashbacks to tell the story, and by the end of the pilot episode, it feels very promising. It also makes me want to play Red Dead Redemption again. Side note: Is the church at the start of the first ep the same as the one from Westworld? looks very familiar. MINDHUNTER This was great right from the start. Engaging opening sequence and introduction to the style of the show. Groff is so strange but personable, I love the supporting cast, the story is thus far intriguing, and can't wait to dive in deeper to this. Both shows have good pilots. Will def. watch the rest of them both.

I watched the first episode of Futureman yesterday and it felt.. cheap? The writing is lazy and the humor is predictable.. I will give it two more episodes to hook me as pilots can sometimes be pretty shakey.. but I wasn't super impressed by the first episode on its own. You're the Best!.

The one that threw me for a bit of a loop was when Bernard was in the control centre, and then the screen flickered to black, and we pick up outside with Bernard spying on the bandits w/ Abernathe. Biggest issue I had was the bandit that Bernard reprogrammed had previously been shot and deactivated (unless I'm misremembering which is certainly possible given the other shows he's on lol), so it threw me for a loop (no pun intended).

That's such a BS excuse for lazy storytelling. Plenty of other shows have done flash-direction based storytelling much, much better than they are here. When certain characters and actions aren't given a timeline point of reference due to one of three characters that visibly age or de-age (robots, they don't age!) not being in the scene with them, it becomes increasingly difficult to place certain moments into the proper place (or even estimated place) in the timeline. It doesn't help when an entire episode (last night) seemingly takes place in a memory (but actually doesn't!? or does it?) because they made the screen flicker to black when they asked a character a question, and used it as a transition piece to move outdoors for the rest of the episode. I'm not hating on the show, just saying they're throwing so much out at once that it's becoming a bit of a chore to follow. I'm getting current-season Walking Dead vibes of "ok, enough shoot shoot bang bang, wtf is going on".

But for real, yeah, even with the added frame rate and general power improvements at 1080p, you probably won't notice a handful of frames here and there, especially as most games generally try to hit a smooth frame rate (even if its' 30).. going from 30 to 34 frames, or even 40, in spots where it might stutter at 24-22 during load or stream-ins, isn't gonna be like "Holy shit this upgrade was so worth it!" like viewing content in 4k or HDR would. Was I generalizing/marginalizing the upgrades on 1080p? Yep. But I bet if you had them running side by side (Og bone and XBX) in 1080p, you'd get the same results as the pepsi challenge when dealing with an end user (and not a forum-goer like us!).

I had a similar issue with my OG Xbox One, and it had to do with Wi-fi Interference. The original Xbox controllers used their own version of bluetooth/wifi that had problems with some 5ghz bands. I also had my Airport Express right next to my xbox which would cause frequent disconnects. They apparently had fixed this issue fairly quickly, but perhaps something similar may be happening here? See if your console is close to your wifi router and give it a bit of extra room. It may alleviate the issue.

I did not. I only deactivated the old one after my new one was in. Speaking of... Anyone else have an EXCEPTIONALLY fast activation time for the preview progam Alpha stream? I entered my console into the Alpha stream last night, and within 5 minutes I was already prompted for the update. I either caught the activation wave at just the right time, or they're blanket accepting all Xbox One X upgrade activations for the time being. I was expecting at least 24 hours, but man I was surprised to see that update pop up that fast. I'd say no. It's not worth it. If you have an existing xbox one at 1080p, you won't feel a difference at all. The $100 discount seems .. low? I traded mine at EBGames (here in Canada) and got $200 off the price of the One X, so even there it feels like you're getting the short end of the stick. At best for you, a One S would be a worthwhile upgrade, but even that is negligible. You're not utilizing 4K, you're not going to see much benefit at all, and being strapped for cash, its def a need vs want right now. I'd hold out until you're in a better financial position, or are in a spot to utilize the extra power of the console.

Yup, HDMI Cables with the 4K/HDR generation have been an absolute nightmare. I have a Marantz NR1607, which supports HDCP 2.2 and HDR, but my cables were not high enough bandwidth for it to maintain connection. Was getting constant flickering, HDMI snow issues, and random cable failures due to lack of bandwidth (even though they were all 'high speed' HDMI cables). Even the ones that come with the original Xbox One and PS4 couldn't handle it. I ended up getting these (3 ft) (12 ft) and all my problems are solved. I'm running a VIZIO P75-C1 for my TV, it supports 4K and HDR, and all that jazz.. but there are a number of settings on the XBONE X that are confusing me: Of all the Hz availabilities, should I be turning off 24hz and all that, or just leave it on as default? How bout the Color Space? Standard or RGB? I've read that the RGB depth has added colors, and the TV auto supports it, so I calibrated based on that. Same with Bit depth? I've maxed it out at the 12-bit setting, and it still displays, even though I'm pretty sure the TV maxes out at 10bit. Anything else I should be looking for setting wise to make sure I'm getting the full range? I ran the "insects" interactive demo, and HDR/4K were clearly visibly making a difference. Just want to be sure I've got the settings done right 100%.
