again, i can't stress enough how nearly every historical liberation movement has made it a point to shoot for the stars. we're still seeing racial justice groups echo the panther's 10 points on freedom from prisons, police brutality, and essentially a complete overhaul of capitalism as an exploitative system...pretty bold for a handful of black revolutionaries in oakland, and while they didn't quite accomplish these before being taken apart, they made headway towards those goals & continue inspiring current groups in these directions. it's literally in the title of angela davis' "freedom is a constant struggle". israel is clearly not about to concede anything until a dent is made,and this is the way to make that dent. focus on that effort and worry about step 10 sometime after phase 1 is complete.

it's weird, i'm trying to get her to use the dragon crest and it's just blacked out for her, i need to sort that out cause she's just gonna get slaughtered at the south shrine without it ...which also runs into the problem that i only have 4 awards to give and the marduk kids are gone and i can't really grind out any more awards now, so either she'll have to make do with 50 dragons (whenever i get her to use the item?) and wein will have to make do with cavalry at the northern shrine, or she's just screwed. i guess i could engage the dude at the fiend tower a bit, but do i keep XP if i run? man, i think i'm boned here

maaaan....fuck dragon force! finished the shrines in a day, got wein the dragon sword or whatever...but he's up in that corner and pinned down by the stupid UFO. i literally can't run, if i do, he's stuck in that corner so it just auto engages another battle anyway. i had enough MP to use this new dragon spell (which did a very little amount of damage, but i guess that's something) then just stood there and died when my dragons ran out. sucks to shelf this one so late in the game, but it's just not enjoyable where i'm at. maybe some other time.

maaan, these shrines are some ol' bullshit gongos, reinhart & teiris gotta deal with 2 dragons and a zombie, none of which a mage or archer survive for long against. i have items to give teiris zombie abilities too (let's see how that goes) but have yet to find anything related to a samurai crest, do i need to put more people in izumo (sp?) castle or what? they just keep getting slaughtered the other group is fairing a bit better but still losing

^nice! i love my copy of PDS but y'all got the better box, hands down yeah...i let him retake his castle and he seems content for the moment, fortunately is there a better way to capture enemy generals? i feel like i get them down to about the red and they always dip, then heal/reup their soldiers at the next outpost id not yet captured. even when they dont, they join up with others and whittle down my men...unless someone has ensare, what all can i do (or not do) to increase my odds of them staying & fighting it out? might just be me, but ive noticed a few times that they bounce when surrounded & i call in melee, wonder if that's just a coincidence

ah, cool! so far though, both search and fortify have failed, but ive been doing the latter (looking back, against Saoshyant's advice) so i think ill just be searching from now on. (weird, i'd assumed awards would please the generals who are talking smack during audience parts) if i retreat from a castle, i assume i lose said castle & captives...but if a general falls in battle, do you lose them as captives too? is there permadeath? reading the manual & now!

double post, but: back to dragon force! can anyone break down strategy & the formations? so far, most times the enemy comes rushing in & i just use defensive/stay still or whatever and let them run into our swords, then switch to melee. i saw disperse was a good one to split the teams along the screen's edges (good for projectiles & such coming down the middle), and one general let me get my enemy cavalry in a pincer attack, but there's a lot of them there i don't know the specifcs of, or when to use em.

^ yeah i started & put it down several times before too man, now that i gave it a chance i'm really getting into it though! yeah, i took a pic of the manual page showing the paper-rock-scissors of each class & what they're weak against. okay so as long as i'm not defending a castle, i can have generals flee, yeah? you're saying use their specials to whittle down enemy armies/general even if their own army's done? that could work, god knows i pulled a hail mary against the obese king last night and let a few generals get captured just to duel & put in work against the last few enemy generals. they can't die that way, can they? god i hope not. also is it random, in terms of which enemy generals become captives or die?

Shining Force III update - finished both the trials! hoo boy, that first one would've been easier if i wasn't dumb. you quickly figure out that walking on the desert sand brings out big worms, but it took me a while to sort out that walking on the grass brings out infinite cerebus' too puzzle wasn't too bad - leveled up Julian (who now looks like the dude at the end of Shining Force 1!), Jubei, Kate and the gunner guy, should have my centaur ready soon. Gracia though.. clearly not enough, i was even letting him get in heals on people down 1HP for leveling just for the 10 XP but he's still at 12 or so! at least he has new spells now. just about to fight a snow vampwitch, doesn't feel like there's too much left to go!

yup! which is literally one side of a trilogy/war. it's so upsetting, though i'm still unclear as to stuff i'd read that said it was made to be more self-contained, cause the ending i got in the US one clearly pointed to more to come. thanks to the excellent fan translation from shining force central, you can play scenarios 2 & 3 on emulator or a modded saturn (i'm doing the latter) also this! actions have consequences, and can greatly affect who's around in later chapters too it was so far ahead of its time

yeah, it's a crazy chapter. i'm loving this again. see, part 1 (US) took me ages to find < $100, but the JP ones weren't too pircey, so i also bought those 3 and then burned the most recent versions of shining force central's fan translation effort, which is absolutely excellent & the only way you're gonna experience the whole trilogy. what blows my mind is, i went out of my way to save/spare certain characters in scenario 1 that i'm told will affect things in 3...and each scenario seems to show the war from a different perspective. this was like '97 i wanna say, how cool is that?

that's the point, y'all - shenmoo 2 came to xbox as part of a early deal with some of their dreamcast ports going over: panzer orta, crazy taxi 3, toejam & earl 3, jet set radio future etc...they bombed, and that was the end of that yakuza had no such deal (even went to Wii-U once) and didn't happen, partly because sony's relationship with that team & partly because (i imagine) japanese gaming seems kinda dead on XB1 so here's a game that sony went to bat marketing & we're not even sure what else...and you think it's gonna port over? based on what? might as well just get it on PC

okay, so i beat yak 6 on legend tonight...hitting 300 on all stats will take a bit, but this looks like the easiest plat yet. i have the one for 4, and still have to finish extreme mode for dead souls (...) but that's it. it'd be cool to do a clean sweep when kiwami 2 drops, but 3 is literally my nightmare. what's the order of easiest, here? 6 has to be first, but what are the next ones? help me built momentum y'all

...holy shit, that's crazy. as a big Strider fan (who never pretended to follow the story, not even in the genesis days) i was told forever that we rarely saw games because the character was tied up with a manga creator who claimed original right,s and that there was issues with that & royalties...so we got a 2nd game on PSX (which is underrated, however easy), some MvC love, and pretty much nothing up until the beginning of this gen...which makes me think they must've sorted that out before the last game. if my assumption's correct, guess the timing was right to tie it all together..? really cool to see, and bodes well for the franchise itself too.

...just wanted to clarify: to what extent are OT's reserved back on GAF holding here? i'd reserved Shenmue 3 & planned to work with the community (here & Shenmuedojo, they were a big help in rewriting it & keeping it current), and currently have a poster here (seiki) PM'ing me insisting it's his somehow.
